Drum Stick and Tamarind Curry

  • 5 Drumsticks Cut in to small pieces Thumbnail
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp Mustered seeds
  • 1 tsp tamarind pulp
  • 1 tsp Jaggery optional
  • 3 Gingerly oil
  • 20 ml oil
Fry and grind
  • 1/4 cup Shallots chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped 
  • 2 tsp chana daal
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Curry leaf
  • 3 tsp red chilli
  • 1 tsp coriander pd
  • 1/2 turmeric pd
  • 1/4 cup of grated coconut
Method 
Heat oil ,fry chana dal,cumin and urad dal.Add curry leaves,red chilli,coriander shallots and saute well Add tomatoes and turmeric and finally greated coconut,saute lightly.Allow it to cool and then grind to make paste.

Heat oil in a kadai add mustered seeds and curry leaf saute chopped onion and add the asafoetide.

Add ground masala saute well and add drumstick with enough water to cook.

Soak and squeeze the tamarind add to the curry.Add little jaggery and salt to taste.Simmer till the oil floats on top.Remove from fire and serve hot with rice.
