BAGARE BAINGAN OR MIRCHI KA SALAN

Mirchi Ka Salan is a Hyderabadi special recipe which is usually paired with Hyderbadi Dum Biriyani and gets featured in most of the weddings ...This curry is very taste for plain rice also, like we make peanut or sesame seeds coconut powder chutney   only

Ingredients
100gm   coconut powder
100gm   sesame seeds
100gm   peanuts
4 chopped green chili
1tsp   Red chili
½ tsp   haldi pd
Salt to taste
1tsp      ginger garlic paste
2           onions
1tsp        jeer a
1tsp       cumin seeds
1tsp        fenugreek seeds
1 small ball of tamarind
Few Curry leaves
Bunch Coriander  leaves

  

METHOD:
Wash and cut the slit  mirchis take out the seeds from inside cut them in lengthwise or brinjal  cut  in four parts leaving stem in con tact    
In a pan add2 tbsp of oil and sauté the mirchi .or bagare baingan  Generally it has to be deep fried but i avoided deep frying. But shallow frying makes the mirchi or brinjal shrink In a pan add2 tbsp of oil and sauté the mirchi.or brinjal . So it is up to   you whether to make it deep fry or not  , ·  In the same pan, add ginger garlic paste and when the raw smell disappears add the finely chopped onions. Sauté till the onion turns golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and sauté   till they become mushy.  Allow this to cool and grind smoothly into a paste Roast the sesame seeds and grind this into powder along with peanuts, cumin seeds and coconut. Since i used roasted peanuts and koppara(dry coconut) roast it. And   roast the sesame seeds. Add oil to the pan and add the ground onion tomato paste to this. Sauté   for a few minutes in a   low flame. Add the peanut masala to this and sauté for a while.
Now  add   the red chili powder and sauté well. Add 1/4 cup of water to this. Add salt to taste. Now add the tamarind extract to this so it gives sourness and let it boil for 2-3 minutes in a low flame. Stir in between. Now add the shallow fried chilies or brinjal fried   and mix well. Let it boil for a minute. Switch off the flame and garnish with curry leaves. mirchi ka salan, side dish for roti, Hyderabadi  mirchi ka salan ,biryani side dish ,recipes using mirchi or brinjal .
