Hyderabadi Double Ka Meetha

Hyderabadi Double Ka Meetha is made at the time of celebrations like marriages or any function at home. It is also know as Indian bread sweet. Double ka meetha is a dessert originated in Hyderabad. It is popular in Hyderabadi cuisine, served at weddings and parties. Below are the ingredients and method to make this delicious dish Double Ka Meetha:  



  
Ingredients: 
  • 1 whole bread cut into cubes 
  • 500gm Sugar
  • 1 lit Milk
  • 100gm Almond (Badam)
  • 100gm Cashew Nuts (Kaju)
  • 50gm Pista
  • 100gm Resins
  • 4 to 6 Cardamoms
  • Saffron or Food color 

Method:

             Cut the bread into cubes and dry for overnight so that it losses softness and moisture. Then fry it in hot ghee till it turns golden brown. The fried breads are transferred into milk container for soaking. Then make sugar syrup in another container by adding water, sugar, cardamoms and pinch of saffron. Stir all content in low flame till it gets little thick., then mix all bread soaked in milk sugar syrup on low flame cook the bread for water to decrease from milk.so that constant become thick.  You can add 1 table spoon of lemon juice so that sugar syrup don't get hard after flame is off. Keep this syrup aside for sometime. 

In another pan add little ghee. Then add nuts like almonds, cashew nuts and pista. Make sure they are fried on low flame. Once they turn to golden brown put the flame off. Mix soaked bread, sugar syrup in another vessel and cook for 5mins in slow flame till the content becomes tick. Then put all the nuts and dry fruits over sweetened cooked bread. Server the sweet cold.
