Paneer 65


Paneer 65, South Indian style is one of the most sought after dishes and kids love eating Paneer 65 as a starter or snack as it is mildly spiced, deep fried and when eaten has a crunchy and crispy texture on the outer side and a smooth delicateness inside bursting out with flavors. Normally for preparing the Paneer 65, the soft and delicate paneer cubes are nicely marinated in spices and coated with rice and all purpose flour(s) and deep fried until golden in color. Paneer 65 is an excellent dish eaten as a starter or as an accompaniment. Paneer is a homemade Indian cheese and is also known as Chenna. To prepare this dish, use the paneer that is low in fat.
Ingredients:
  • Paneer, cut into shapes you desire - 200 gm
  • Green chillies -- 2-3
  • Garlic - 3-4 cloves
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Rice flour - 1 tsp
  • All-purpose flour (Maida) - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Pepper pd (optional) - ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Curd - 2 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying

Method:
In the blender, blend few green chillies, garlic and curry leaves to a slightly coarse paste. Remove this into a bowl and add Kashmiri red chilli pd (gives a nice reddish color to the paneer pieces after frying), rice flour, all purpose flour, salt, garam masala, lemon juice, curd and mix all the ingredients well to a smooth paste. Add little water if required to slightly dilute the paste.
Sprinkle some flour on the paneer pieces and keep aside. Gently add the paneer pieces into the masala mix paste and mix well so that all the pieces are coated well with the masala. Heat some oil in a pan/ kadai and when it gets hot, add in the paneer pieces in batches and deep fry until they become crisp and golden in color.
