Ingredients:
For 250g Shankarpare:

  • Oil for deep frying
  •  1 cup all purpose flour (plain flour, maida)
  • 1 small bowl ghee
  • 1 small bowl water
  • 1 small bowl sugar
  • salt to taste

For syrup:
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon coarsely grounded cardamom
3 tablespoons coconut powder


Method:

- Put sugar, water and put them to boil
- Mix well and wait till all the sugar dissolves
- Pour ghee and let the syrup boil for 2 - 3 minutes on low flame
- Take off the boiling syrup off the flame and pour it in a bowl and let it cool
- Add a pinch of salt, enough flour to make a soft kneaded dough
- Take a portion of the dough and roll it into 2 'mm thick roti
- Cut them into small square or diamond shaped pieces
- Deep fry them till golden brown in color on medium flame
- Once done, take them out on kitchen towel.
- Cool them and store them in air tight container.
