Honey cake with prunes and nuts




Delicious and delicate cake is a dessert that has gained popularity not only in Russia but also far beyond its borders. It is believed that this cake was a favorite food of the wife of the Russian Emperor Alexander I: his amazing taste struck Elizabeth A. despite the fact that she did not love honey.
ingredients:
prunes – 200 g;
flour – 400 g;
eggs – 5 PCs.;
honey – 3 tbsp;
sugar – 300 g; 
baking soda – 1.5 tsp.;
sour cream – 500 g;
fat cream – 150 g;
walnuts – 1 Cup.
Method of preparation:
Eggs beat with a mixer at high speed for 4 minutes.
Add 200 g of sugar and whisk again until smooth (about 3 to 4 minutes).
Pour in honey and beat on medium speed for another minute.
In small portions add the flour and baking soda while continuing to whisk at minimum speed.
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
The form for baking cover baking paper and pour half of the batter. Bake for 35 — 40 minutes.
In the same way and bake the second cake.
Prunes wash and pour boiling water for 10 — 15 minutes, then slice.
Cream beat with a mixer until the appearance of the peaks.
Add the sugar with the sour cream and whisk until smooth.
Cakes cut lengthwise into two parts, so to get 4 is approximately equal to the thickness of the thin layer.
Oil the bottom cooked cream.
Then put a little bit of prunes, sprinkle with chopped nuts and cover with second layer.
Do the same with the other cakes.
The last cake decorate with whole walnuts and prunes.
Leave the cake in a cool place for 3-4 hours to soak cream.
Serve with tea or coffee!
