Khatti Daal (Tamarind daal)





Khatti Daal (Tamarind daal) Ingredients: 1. Toor Daal – 1 cup 2. Turmeric – half spoon 3. Onions – 1 large (chopped) 4. Green Chilies – 3-4 sliced 5. Garlic – 6-7 cloves Crushed 6. Curry leaves 7. Dry red chilies – 2 pcs 8. Cumin/mustard seeds 9. Red chili powder – 1 spoon 10. Salt as per taste 11. Coriander (for garnish) Add water Turmeric and pressure cook Toor daal till 3-4 whistles. Heat Oil in a pan, fry two dry chilies and keep aside for garnish. Add mustard seeds cumin seeds, garlic, curry leaves, Green chilies. Wait for few seconds, add onions and cook till slightly golden brown. Add Tamarind pulp.. Add red chili powder Let tamarind pulp cook for 3-4 minutes and now add mashed Toor Daal Add some water (if required) to maintain consistency. Add salt as per taste and cook for 2-3 minutes more.. Add chopped Coriander and you are done...!! Garnish it with Fried red chilies!
